Minutes of meeting of the Adel Association
Held on Thursday 17th November 2011
In The Stables, Back Church Lane
1. The Vice Chairman, Paula Brown welcomed everyone to the meeting. She gave apologies for the Chairman who was away on business.
2. Update from the local Police
PC Bob Stead and Sgt. Beck attended the meeting and gave us an update on crime in the Adel area. At present they are focusing on burglary. Although Adel is not a high crime area there has been a spate of burglaries in the past 2 weeks. There was also a nasty robbery on Bedquilts when 3 people set upon 4 others.
Cold callers collecting scrap metal should be discouraged and the police would be pleased to hear from anyone who receives a visit from people claiming to be buying/selling.
They have two other priorities at this time – Parking around the schools and speeding. The SID machine/laser guns and ticketing are all being deployed.
PC Bob Stead gave an update on the specific burglaries that had taken place.
