The Project has been on hold for the last two months. The land is currently partly owned by WNWHL and part by the Council's Parks and Leisure Dept and we need authorisation from both to proceed with the project. Initial meetings had indicated their support but following representations from Adel Crag Association to WNWHL we have had a number of other meetings to try to resolve the issues they have raised.
To date we have held a wide range of consultations with Adel residents including:- - Research for the Adel Design Statement which supported the idea of Community Space
- Numerous regular meetings of the Adel Assocition with monthly updates. This has always supported the concept.
- Personal briefings at 2 Adel Crag Association meetings as well as their AGM in 2009. Their input has always been invited and we have been assured of their support. They have also asked for comments in a number of their newsletters over the last twelve months but no further comments have been passed to the project team for action.
- Details published in Adel Life and this website for a public meeting in 2009. The meeting discussed all the potential sites and gave residents an open forum to discuss what they would like to see on the site. There was only one objections and approval given to form a project team, independent of all resident associations.
- Consultants briefed on all issues raised with the team and detailed proposals published in November 2009
- Project team consulting with Young Mother's Groups regarding type of play equipment.
However WNWHL are insisting, based on representations from Adel Crag Association, that yet another survey of residents is necessary before they can support the proposal. This should be distributed to residents in March. It will be a two page questionnaire to be returned in a prepaid envelope. This is not just a form for those who have concerns about the project but needs your action if you support the concept. |
