Meet the People - November Print E-mail
Written by Dr Barrie Hopson

On an especially cold night in November I was particularly pleased that around 50 people turned up at the Stables as our normal monthly meeting was turned over completely to an event run by Safer Leeds and the Police.  Councillor Les Carter, who has Council responsibility for Community Safety, had set it up.

We had previously circulated a questionnaire through the good offices of Adel Life magazine to get an idea of local concerns regarding safety and crime but were disappointed that only 17 replies were posted at Adelwood Stores and the Co-op on Otley Road.  Interestingly, although Safer Leeds analysed these questionnaires, the data, though limited, did reflect the actual crime figures presented to us by the police later on for North West Leeds in general and Adel in particular.
